Ian Evans' Music
Thanks for dropping by. I live in London and write pop and  experimental tunes. On this site you can get a lot of my music for free. I squeeze in lots of hidden information, which you can also read about here. My aim is to produce things with lots to discover and to embrace anything a bit different.

Please feel free to drop me a line. Cheers, Ian E x

"Indie guitars are back in fad & Londoner Ian brings them forth with a melody that jumps about like a jumping Mexican bean. Wonderfully different & determined to not be tied down to one particular style, we get glimpses of Ride,Blur,XTC but mostly we get multi-instrumentalist Ian-nice one mate." BBC 6 Music, Fresh on the Net

"I listened to the whole album many, many times and immersed myself in it. It is not made for all ears, but for ears craving new musical landscapes, new combinations of sounds. Not of notes only, but sounds!" Jean-Baptiste Collinet, Muses Muse.com

"The Post Office Tower is a great debut from a man who's sure to attract attention"  Music News.com

"His voice is sweet and unsettling, like he might hug you to death." "The sharp guitar line is a joy throughout" Happening Magazine

"Delightfully quirky. His music is like a window to his soul (albeit a stained-glass one)"  Cary Granite, New York Film and Television Group

" 'Leave Us Not Little Nor Yet Dark’ could easily have been on Elliot Smith’s ‘Roman Candle’ debut." AAA Music

"Strange and normal at the same time"  Tim Smith, Cardiacs

"Very original, very appealing despite its strangeness, and hiding a considerable amount of musicianly light under the bushel of its self-effacement" Oliver Arditi.com

"When he says his songs are like treasure map he ain't kidding! I was able to follow the lyrics to Cast Courts through the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. I put the song on my iPod, printed out the lyrics, and literally found my way from the entrance to the exhibit using the lyrics. A very cool experience, and a wonderful way to experience the convergence of music and visual art. And, to quote the artist himself, it is just the tip of the iceberg. There are other musical maps and mysteries to explore here. For example, Kensington Gore (a double entendre in the lyrics) is just a stone's through from the V&A. So pick up Lapsang Souchong and lose yourself in the labyrinth!" Cary Granite, The New York Film and Television Group

"His singing voice is, in all honesty, poor. Bordering on excruciating" AAA Music
